
BRIDGET RAVENSCRAFT
SOPRANO
Bridget Ravenscraft has been a performer since she was a child, often insisting the adults in her life call her by various celebrity names.
She began taking voice lessons in 7th grade after auditioning for and being offered the role of Dorothy in the school production of Oz! The Musical.
In high school, she performed with the top choir and took home mulitple awards from the NATS competitions.
From 2015-2019, Ms. Ravenscraft received her Bachelor's Degree from The Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University Bloomington. She studied with baritone Timothy Noble and performed the roles of Gretel, Consuelo, and in multiple opera choruses on the Musical Arts Center stage.
After graduating, she auditioned for and was granted a position with Des Moines Metro Opera as an apprentice artist, and performed in the choruses of Sweeney Todd and Pique Dame, and performed in multiple apprentice artist scenes.
From 2023-2025, Ms Ravenscraft received her Artist Diploma in voice performance from the university of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She studied with Yvonne Redman and Sara Wigley, and coached with Dr. Casey Robards and Dr. Julie Gunn. At U of I, she premiered the role of Legion Woman 1 in Ilya Demutsky's Black Square, sang the role of Aunt Eller in Oklahoma!, and the role of La Musica in Monteverdi's Orfeo. Also in her U of I era, she placed second in the Krannert Debut Artist competition and finaled in the UIUC Symphony competition.
Currently, Ms Ravenscraft is the soprano Artist in Residence at Opera Colorado. She will appear on the Ellie Caulkins MainStage as Annina in La traviata, as well as study cover the role of Violetta. Ms. Ravenscraft will also take on the roles of Mabel (Pirates of Penzance) and Juliette (Romeo et Juliette) during her residency and tour them around the state.
At the start of 2026, Ms. Ravenscraft competed in the Colorado-Wyoming District of the Laffont Competition and recently received an honorable mention as a finalist in the Denver Lyric Opera Guild Competition.
In May, she will perform her last role as an Artist in Residence with Opera Colorado for the 25/26 season, Jennie Parsons in Kurt Weill's Down in the Valley. She will then travel to the Quisisana Resort in Maine where she will reprise the role of Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, and sing in the chorus of The Light in the Piazza.
